Life's Lessons of Efforts

I'm gonna start off with the fact that I have learned,
that sometimes the best therapy
(although often thought to be any form of chocolate )
may just indeed be letting tears roll down your face,
no wiping them away with you hands or tissues.
Just let them roll on down, splattering where they fall.
It's good stuff.

President David O. McKay once said,

"Wisdom comes through effort. All good things require effort. That which is worth having will cost part of your physical being, your intellectual power and your soul power—'Ask, and it shall be given you seek, and ye shall find knock, and it shall be opened unto you:' (Matt. 7:7.) But you have to seek, you have to knock. On the other hand, sin thrusts itself upon you. It walks beside you, it tempts you, it entices, it allures. You do not have to put forth effort. It is like the poor, fallen woman who lies in wait to deceive. It is like the billboard advertising attracting you to drink and to smoke. It is like the message that comes into your very homes with the television and radio or the golden packet put right into your hand. Evil seeks you, and it requires effort and fortitude to combat it. But truth and wisdom are gained only by seeking, by prayer, and by effort."

I've realized this more and more in the past few months.
And so I've resolved to put more effort in.
More effort into being confident from the inside out,
the right source.
More effort into my scripture study and learning.
More effort into my prayers and the relationship they are building.
More effort into things I enjoy, like reading Harry Potter.
More effort into friendships.
More effort into people.
More effort into trying to ask for things, being humble.
(In a CES fireside called Coming to Know given by Sister Rosemary Wixon in Logan last year, she said, "There is something very humbling about asking. Asking is an act of faith.)
More effort into talking to people about myself...
... my feelings, my struggles, my frustrations, my joys.

More effort to not mess with the man in between:
(p.s. the video is kinda WEIRD,
but this is my favorite version of the song)

And more effort to be more than I are:

More effort to dream:
And what I've already experienced has been exciting!

What are you going to put more effort into?

The Butterfly Circus

Um, so. There's this video. It's apparently been up on youtube since October and after watching it I can really only say,
1. Why has no one showed me this before because it's AMAZING?!?!
2. THANK YOU! To Aleisha for posting it on your cute blog,
3. Watch it. It's 22 minutes or so but it is a fantastic use of them,
and
4. You should be warned, tears escaped my eyes multiple times.
I just love it.
I want to be like Mr. Mendez,
Always able to see people's worth.
Help them to see it again too.
Show that they can get through anything.
Show myself that same thing.
Because we are all Divine,
and we all have something to offer the world,
whether others, or even ourselves, see it right away or not.

Target hits the Target.

So perhaps you remember this post:
In my opinion Target has the best marketing team out there
because, honestly, this lady is hilarious.
Yup.
When I grow up, I want to be like her...
this part of her that is.

Post-It.

Today my roommate posted this video and I just had to share:

And that reminded me of this:

I really like post-it notes . . .
. . .and people that know how to use them.

50 years.

Yesterday (if you haven't already heard) -
Tangled
debuted on DVD/Blu-ray.
This = happiness.

My roommies and I (+Shayna)
took time out of our lives to watch it
(we did homework too - yes be impressed)

At the end of the DVD this came on:
I LOVE it!
It just radiates happiness for me.

Bless that Walt Disney man for his dream.

On another note remember this quote?
(I am assuming everyone has heard it at some point in life)
"Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle." ~ Plato

Never in my life has this ever been more true.
Decisions to be made
and those that have been and their consequences,
questions, doubts, fears, insecurities, health issues,
struggles of every kind from the past,
in the present,
or coming in the future . . .

I have been blessed to be let into some of them
for many people and it has opened my eyes
to the truth of that quote.
These are happy, loving, beautiful,
talented people and they have struggles,
struggles that are often hidden
but nonetheless affecting their lives . . .
So Be Kind - We're all on our own journeys.
I sure appreciate when people don't bite back at me
when in my bitter mood . . .
Sorry this is such a long post but along with being kind
remember these on you trial apparent days:

I am SO excited to hear from these men
and others like them this weekend.

Oh-oh-reo

Today while at work Shayna and I stumbled upon this:
Doesn't it just make you happy?

p.s. there are LOTS of commercials for Target off to the side
that are almost just as great! :)
Among them:
Enjoy Life.

The Force.

Basically I love this:

So cute. So much so, that I dictionary.com'd the force and this is what I got:

The Force: n. slang.duct (duck) tape.
"She used The Force to hold it all together."

Basically I am going to get me some duct tape so I can use the force frequently.

p.s. Enjoy some commercials:

Oh and a skit!

Get Validated

My friend found this and shared it with me and I felt like sharing it with all of you! It is long but I think it is worth it!

Remember how beautiful and amazing and great you are! I love all of you! Don't forget to help others and let them know how great and wonderful they are too!

Teeth and Old Sweethearts

So last week was Spring Break and I loved every second of it . . . even when I broke a tooth . . .oops! I will tell the whole Spring Break story later but for now I will just let you all know that when you are eating Sweethearts in March make sure you don't bite them at the wrong angle because I can figure that happened in my mouth is I did (Hope that makes sense). But anyway I broke a tooth and had to schedule the dentist into my life. It didn't hurt really except it was sharp and didn't get along with my tongue. BUT once at the dentist there was 15 minutes from walking into the office to walking out and NO numbing (I hear it is worse than the pain . . . which I didn't have any of) :) And in honor of this great dentist story, here is a great after the dentist video.

Step of Faith

So as most people reading this know, I have struggled a little because I do not know what major to go into and that is frustrating to me. I have been flat out told to that I am going to have to wait for the Lord and his schedule. I am accepting this and some days are better than others . . . I have just decided to once again go with the flow and follow my dad's advice, "You are at the University to get an education, not a degree." Yep pretty much the day he told me that was a good day. I was talking to a friend about this kind of a thing because he brought up a song about God knowing best and then he told me to watch the clip found at this link.

It is amazing. Pretty much the scariest thing to do is move forward with faith . . . especially when it is a little frustrated. But as you watch Indiana Jones his second step is not so hard to take and he can see the future and then he is able to show others. Yep, pretty much it is amazing and I am watching the full movie tonight when I get off of work. So just keep going!
