HOME
Yup. That's where I am.
I have been here a few days
and soon I take off camping.
The other day I was driving
and there was a thunderstorm to the north,
sunshine and blue sky to the south,
blowing fields of green grain,
and tall majestic mountains.
Gorgeous.
I love home.
And am so excited to spend more time with my family
in yet another middle of nowhere place.
Until I get back.
So long. Farewell. And enjoy your summer days.

Experimental Life Lesson #1
When you use too large of a measuring spoon and
put WAY too much baking soda and salt in your cookies,
You can fix them by scooping a bunch out. . .
Still too salty?
Add another 1/4-1/2 cup of brown sugar,
And you are good to go.

27/52
This year I can honestly say
I love Independence Day celebrated in small town Idaho.
I missed it terribly.
However I enjoyed my weekend nonetheless.
Last night, I joined the other Savages
and Michelle joined us (Cyri came for fireworks)
for some delightful stories, a bike ride, tag, and fireworks.
It was so much fun!
I love my family.
Remember the bike ride?
This is the bike.
We found another one too.
B riding the scooter.
I missed it terribly.

Little Toy Trucks
Remember the past two summers
how I have visited this great little place
called Minnetonka?
I went again and this year we took a much larger group.
And enjoyed the crazy cave formations.
As well as the great natural place to eat.
Here are some photos to tell the story.
Katie, Natalie, and I starting the journey
in the back of a police car.
(no worries, it was an ex-police car)
We took a few.
Katie and I touching the touchable stalagmite.
The group outside the cave.
We found out later that we missed one.
Here is the real whole group.
On the log . .. as is the tradition.
(believe me I had NO idea that's how my face looked)
Also following this photo . . . I may have fallen in a bit.

Sunday Drives
Life is Beautiful.
See?
*sigh*
I love going on drives.
Sunday makes them most possible.
Michelle and I loved it.
And we got to chase some of these.
Pretty cool. Even if it happens all the time.
And then we visited some horses.
There are few better ways to enjoy the beautiful country
in which I get to live EACH day than the way I did.
I am PROUD to be an American.

Makes Me Want To Dance
Ok so "So You Think You Can Dance"
I have seen videos of the dances here and there
Such as this one:
And I love them.
But this season I have actually watched some episodes
and boy are these people amazingly talented.
I love. love. love (ok REALLY love) this one.
(they are removing the videos quickly due to copyright so I hope you can still see this)
YUP. Amazing if you ask me.
I think he is an all out dancer!
Wow.

Also I love this song. That's all.

Snoozing through . . .
I don't remember whether I blogged about this already or not, but back in January my friend Whitney blogged something that stuck out. And today due to MY own use of the blessed/cursed snooze button, I have been thinking about that post.
I mean I will be the FIRST to admit that I use the snooze button. Daily. Multiple times. Some days it feels great and sometimes . . . you just wake up feeling blah.
The post contains Jason Mraz's thoughts. He says "The Snooze Button – that device which offers a 2% chance of returning to your dreams and a 98% chance of non-fulfillment on your real ones. This morning as I hit the snooze alarm again, I got present to what it really is: a Procrastination Button."
He then talks about seeing that mentality in other aspects of our lives. Are we procrastinating projects? Bettering ourselves? Doing something we've always wanted to? While I think his dream statement is somewhat of an overstatement I do know that
1. If I didn't use the snooze I could be getting more GOOD sleep

OR
2. I could be doing something more useful and therefore fulfilling my life with a little more exercise, pondering time, or developing a talent.
