Sometimes

You just love LIFE!
Today is one of those days for me! :)
So amazing.

OH! And I kind of got to dance in the rain today - granted it was really mist and also it was more jumping for joy. :)

Seasons in a week

So yesterday I was thinking (a dangerous pastime, I know) and got this is what resulted:

Monday I jumped into a bunch of fall leaves as stated in the post below.
Tuesday I built this small snowman with my friend Michelle. His name is Doug O'Riley and yesterday he kept a bench near the USU Engineering building company.
Also when we were taking this picture a fellow student joined us in doing so - this made me smile.
So with two seasons in two days I was hoping that today I would get to dance in spring-like rain
and maybe roll down a grassy summer hill.
It's not going to happy today BUT with the weather looking to warm up for next week stay tuned to see how many seasons I can see!

Oh! When I was looking for pictures to post I found this and thought it was great - who thinks of these things? It is seriously real.

Dear USU Leaf Cleaner-Uppers

Thank you!

Love Heidi.
While you may be wondering why I am ok with people cleaning the color of fall up at campus I am looking at the picture above. I mean to clean up leaves you simply MUST make a pile and they had machines to help them do the Quad, so the piles are HUGE.
Today I had an O-chem test before my hour on the Quad with my friend Cyri and so life was meh but not bad. Then I saw them cleaning leaves up and oh how the pile was tempting me and Cyri said it was doing the same to her. Then came two people - one I knew from summer but I didn't know his name - the people cleaning them up gave us the ok to jump in the leaves and that's just what we did. While dirty and not very good tasting it was AMAZING! Kind of like this:
I wish my camera was not in some foreign state getting examined or these photos would be of me. (If you get the chance to jump into something fun - DO IT!)

So today I was actually reading all of my e-mails from my adviser. I found one talking about applying to med-schools written by a student. He talked about how he went and saw a medical admissions officers about what would be the best thing he could do to get into med school but did it as a confused senior instead of asking directly. The man saw through him but what he said I think can help us all in our lives. The article says:

"When he (the admissions officer) sees swarms of applicants that have covered all the bases but haven’t demonstrated particular interest in anything, he gets nervous. Why train doctors who can’t invest themselves in anything? He said he would rather have a student who is a glee club national award winner than one who has perfect grades, worked in labs and shadowed fleets of doctors. Only if applicants can truly care about something can they care about their patients.

I needed to think about how I would become a good doctor (not a good applicant)."

This made me feel a little better because grades are somewhat of a stress. I know that I need to find my passion. What I love. What I excel at. This is what a I want to do whether I decide to get a profession that includes more schooling or not so I can be the best me I can be.

This happened to me today - only through my jeans so probably not as bad and the stinger was quite easy to pull out but oh the burn.
Don't worry my days laying on the quad are not over due to small creature.

Healthy

I had perfectly good intentions of eating a healthy lunch today . . .
(image)
. . .until I left my apple home and my yogurt was NOT good how it went bad I don't know. Oh well I will try again tomorrow or just go visit a place on campus for good food.
*sigh*

Yesterday

Oh my goodness yesterday was amazing! Why you may ask . . . I can't pinpoint one reason because it was just a REALLY good day - which Tuesdays are my least favorite school days but not yesterday. Here are some things that contributed to my day:

1. We made aspirin in O-chem and things went relatively well.
2. I had a whisper conversation with my friend Alex as we passed each other on campus
3. I ran into Cyri and we got lunch and had a walk in between my firs two classes
4. I went on a walk through the cemetery with my friend Michelle
5. Physics lab was a hoot because Michelle is my partner and stuff just happened - at one point we were talking about phi (fee fi) and I just had to say fo fum. So great.
6. I didn't have any further obligations and it was a beautiful fall day.

7. I drank Gossner's milk several times
8. I went grocery shopping with Alaura and Amy at Maceys
9. We got internet again! AND in the process visited the relatives of our landlord trying to find our landlord's house - yes a great mistake.
10. It was just a GREATLY STUPENDOUS DAY!

I love my life!

I feel like it has been forever since I have posted! Wow life is crazy! Today I had two mid-terms: Culinary Basics and Physics. I had to know how to cook each type and cut of meat as well as a bunch of things about gravity, drag forces, and simple harmonic oscillation. It was hard and intense and the minutes walking to my Physics test I really just wanted to curl up in a ball and cry. Now it's over and all I can hope for is an ok score or better. My friend Cyri sent me the talk cited below to read and I found this:
"The solutions to life's problems are always gospel solutions. Not only are the answers found in Christ, but so is the power, the gift, the bestowal, the miracle of giving and receiving those answers."
-Jefferey R Holland "How Do I Love Thee"
They did a Mormon Messages with it that you can check out here.

Also today I want to share this because it looks hilarious and I am excited. Enjoy!

My Kindness Shall Not Depart From Thee

Some songs are just REALLY beautiful and touching. I remember when this fireside happened and I love this song and the talk. Enjoy and have a great day.

Follow the prophet . . .s

Oh how I LOVE General Conference!

I love getting to hear from the amazing men that lead the church and the women that lead too.

I love getting answers to prayers and direction through the direction and counsel they give!

I love all these men: Every single one! They speak the truth and are truly called of God.

One more reason

I love POST-IT notes.
Last night my old roommate and best friends Kyle and Tiffany came up for an Ag banquet and dropped by to grab the tickets I had picked up for them earlier in the month. Sadly this meant a hello and a goodbye but lots of good hugs. I got to see them one more time that night when they stopped by the apartment where I was upstairs for a party and they said goodbye. It was super sad to only see them for like three minutes total but it was definitely better than no time at all.

So I said goodbye to them with tears and hugs and then I said goodbye to the party. When I walked into my bedroom there were post-its on my wall with memories and just words of joy ALL over! It made me cry again but it was so HAPPY! :) Happy notes are my favorite.
